  • The Amazon River Dolphin is also known as the pink river dolphin since the lower body is coloured in a pinkish shade. The Amazon River dolphin and 3 of its subspecies live in aquatic habitats such as river basins, major courses of rivers and lakes of South America. In captivity, the river dolphin is difficult to train and a high mortality rate is seen among captive individuals. In 2018, the species was listed on the Red list of endangered species.
